Learn Python - Intro session

About intro session

This session was meant for getting along with each other, briefing about the course and getting a little hands-on experience with Github.

We had quiet an active participation for the beginning. Even though the meeting was finalized just a couple of hours ago, a lot of people turned up. The attendance list is open here.

For the first half an hour, we discussed about the syllabus and the plan. Then we started off with Github.

For the beginning, we asked everyone to edit a text file that was in a branch of the repo, commit and then give a pull request. People started working on it. A lot of people asked doubts, doubts which even made us to refer resources. We also gave them links of blogs that taught how to initiate a pull request, forking a repo and so on.

We got around 13 pull requests. 9 were successful. The rest 4 had conflicts which were resolved by the participants themselves.

Everyone was getting a hang of it real soon and we are really happy that the session went extremely well with overwhelming response.

Stay tuned for more updates!
